First keynote speaker: Alice Sharp

Alice is an inspiring and motivational presenter for early years training and continuous professional development. As a teacher, creator, author, mum and imagineer Alice is both nationally and internationally renowned as an expert in leading learning in early childhood.

Second keynote speaker: Liz Pemberton

Liz Pemberton (she/her) is the Director of The Black Nursery Manager Ltd – a training & consultancy company which focuses on anti-racist practice within Early Years. Liz’s mission is to continue to promote inclusive practice in the Early Years sector, with a particular focus on how race, culture and ethnicity should be considered in this practice.

Third keynote speaker: Zero Tolerance

Zero Tolerance is Scotland’s expert organisation on primary prevention of men’s violence against women and girls (VAWG). We work to end VAWG by tackling the root cause: gender inequality. Many of you will be familiar with the Gender Equal Play guidance.

Katie Horsburgh – Policy and Practice Officer: Children and Young People

Katie’s work focuses on embedding primary prevention in early years, schools and youth work spaces.

Joanna Zawadzka – Campaigns and Engagement Officer

Joanna’s role involves connecting with a wide range of stakeholders to help boost awareness on gender equality issues and improve gender based violence prevention practices across the media, voluntary and statutory services. She co-created Gender Equal Play guidance and delivered a You Can Be Campaign for early years practitioners to help them improve gender equal practice in their settings.

Fourth keynote speaker: Laurie Eyles

Laure is a registered dietitian and dietetic service lead in NHS Lothian and has worked as a dietitian in NHS Scotland for over 20 years. Laurie also has a role as professional advisor in the population health directorate at Scottish Government advising and supporting policy teams, ministers and clincians on diet and healthy weight. Laurie has a particular interest in body image, body positivity and healthy relationships with food
